Studio Liability Waiver & Terms of Use

Every member must accept this waiver before booking. Any unregistered guest must sign it through their own link before the booking is confirmed. It applies to every visit, stays valid for up to 12 months, and covers every teacher at ALTA.

1. Assumption of risk — Pole dance, inversions, aerial tricks and fitness training carry inherent risks, including falls, slips, collisions and serious injury. I understand these risks and will follow all safety instructions. This acknowledgement does not remove any legal rights I have against ALTA.

2. Liability — Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence of ALTA, its operator JoyLife Aura Limited, or anyone for whom they are legally responsible, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, ALTA is not responsible for injury or loss caused solely by my own conduct, my failure to follow safety rules, inherent training risks or the independent acts of other users, to the extent permitted by Hong Kong law. Any restriction concerning other loss applies only where fair and reasonable under Hong Kong law. Nothing affects my statutory rights.

3. Fitness to train — I confirm I am physically fit and have no medical condition that makes pole training unsafe for me. I will stop immediately and seek medical advice if I feel unwell.

4. Safe use of equipment — I will follow all studio safety rules. Crash mats are MANDATORY: I will always place and use a crash mat while practising, without exception. I will never attempt moves beyond my ability without a qualified spotter, and never use equipment while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

5. Personal property — Please look after your belongings. Subject to clause 2 and applicable law, ALTA is not responsible for loss, theft or damage caused by circumstances outside its reasonable control.

6. Damage caused by me — I am responsible for any damage I cause to the premises or equipment and agree to pay for repair or replacement.

7. Cleanliness and cleaning fee — I will leave the studio as I found it. I will remove all skid marks, chalk and grip-agent residue, and wipe up sweat or spills from the floor, poles and equipment after use, and clear away my rubbish and personal items before I leave. ALTA reserves the right to charge me a cleaning fee where extra cleaning is needed because I left marks, residue or a mess. A minimum cleaning fee of HK$100 applies, and the fee charged will not exceed the reasonable cost of the cleaning actually carried out; I agree to pay it on request.

8. Guests — Anyone I give credits to must register their own account and accept this waiver. If I bring someone who is not registered with ALTA, I must give their name and email when booking. They must sign this waiver through their own link before my booking is confirmed and before they enter the studio.

9. Responsibility for guests — I will tell my guests the safety rules and ensure they comply. I am responsible for loss or damage they cause through a breach of those rules, subject to applicable law; this does not exclude ALTA's own legal responsibility.

10. CCTV and privacy — ALTA operates 24 hours a day. Every part of the studio except the changing room is recorded by CCTV at all times, for safety, access control and incident investigation. Toilets and changing areas are never recorded. Footage and other personal data are handled under the ALTA Privacy Policy; notices must be displayed on site.

11. Minors (under 18) — The person who books and pays must be at least 18. A person under 18 may enter and train only as a guest on an adult's booking, and only when a parent or legal guardian signs a fresh Minor Consent & Waiver for that visit — there is no standing or seasonal consent. A child under 6 must be supervised by a parent or guardian who stays on the ALTA premises for the whole session; older minors may be dropped off once consent is signed. There is no minimum training age: the guardian judges readiness and the teacher will refuse any session that looks unsafe. Every part of the studio except the changing room is covered by CCTV. I confirm I am at least 18 and, where I bring a minor, that I am its parent or legal guardian.

12. Emergencies — If someone is injured or in danger, stop training, call 999 and give the operator the studio address displayed on site. Follow the posted exit instructions and leave by the nearest safe exit if there is a fire. Notify ALTA as soon as it is safe and report any injury, incident or damaged equipment within 24 hours. Do not resume using unsafe equipment.

13. Severe weather — See the Bad Weather Policy. Do not travel to or use the studio during a Typhoon Signal No. 8 or above, Black Rainstorm Warning or government Extreme Conditions announcement. Contact ALTA about affected bookings; ALTA will arrange eligible credit restoration or any remedy required by law.

ALTA is operated by JoyLife Aura Limited, Hong Kong. Acceptance is recorded online before your first booking, and every user must also sign the printed copy at the studio on their first visit. For a guest under 18, the parent or guardian signs the printed copy for each visit.
